Severe flash flooding on 26 August 2026 caused loss of life, displacement and extensive damage across several districts in Nepal. A Penny For Nepal is raising funds in response to this emergency and will publish updates on how appeal funds are allocated.
An urgent response to a devastating disaster.
According to the Government of Nepal, the flooding severely affected riverbank communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha, with search, rescue, evacuation and emergency relief operations continuing after the disaster.
The Government of Nepal and the Embassy of Nepal in London have appealed for voluntary contributions to support relief, rehabilitation and recovery efforts.
